Rawsome!
This is a wonderful raw food book by Brigitte Mars. The book is all about eating foods closest to their natural state which engenders a tremendous exchange of energy between food and the body.
Bridgette also points out the environmental benefits of a raw foods diet, making a strong case for eating raw foods as a means of reducing waste and reducing the human footprint.
There is a great section called the Raw Foods Encyclopedia that gives an overview of the benefits of raw fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. This is where you can learn about the benefits of these individual foods and the nutrients that they contain.
This book has over 200 raw food recipes. From shakes, juices, dressings, salads, soups, yogurts, crackers, spreads, dips, vegetable burgers, curries, pastas, wraps, brownies, ice cream, lemon bars, fruit leathers, pies, cakes, puddings, and other culinary taste treats.
This book was published in 2004 and I think this it is a great read for people who want to incorporate more raw foods into their diet. I have enjoyed several of the recipes in this book and consider it a great addition to any raw food library. Have a few good recipe books is a necessary to have on hand for when you want to implement more healthy foods in your kitchen repertoire.
I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Brigitte Mars on the Fresh Cafe in January of 2015. She is the author and co-author of 18 books and she is an inspiring lady to listen too. I am impressed that at the age of 62 she is looking good in her bikini and teaching the benefits of wild edible foods, herbs, raw and natural health.
You can listen to the 25 minute interview with Brigitte here
I hope you get a copy of her Rawsome book and learn how to add in more of these super foods into your day.
