Quote: Paul and Linda McCartney

Paul and Linda McCartney quote

“We don’t eat anything that has to be killed for us.  We’ve been through a lot, and we’ve reached a stage where we really value life.”  – Paul and Linda McCartney

Paul and Linda shared their message in a simple way by sharing what they believed.  Even though Linda is no longer here Paul still shares his message through a 13 minute you tube video called “Glass Walls.”

This video by Paul McCartney’s is a powerful  message ” if slaughterhouses had glass walls everyone would be a vegetarian.” I could not agree more. If people want to be more knowledgeable about their food choices, this short video will give an understanding  about the treatment of animals for food.

I think if everyone could see what goes on in factory farms and slaughterhouses, they would have a different perception of eating animals.  I believe that most people would feel more compassion towards animals if they were able to watch a few minutes of the daily life of these animals raised for food.  Is it possible that the frustration, fear and stress that these animals experience every since day of their lives be passed on in their flesh for our consumption?  I believe it is very possible when research shows that stress and fear cause an flood of cortisol hormones into our blood and tissues from our adrenals.

I love to see animals in their natural environment living a happy life as they were intended to live.  Everyday, throughout the seasons, I am so fortunate to be able to observe the wildlife in my backyard,  teaching their babies and foraging.  The deer, quail, and rabbits that I have grown fond of, I could not imagine having on my plate any more than I could my dog or kitties.

Different cultures select which animals are pets and which are for eating.  What animal in one country is food, is a pet in another country.  We eat cows in our country and in another they are sacred. We have dogs for pets in our country, in another they are caged and raise for food. The simple truth is they are all living, feeling beings that deserve kindness.   Most people could not imagine spending 1 hour in the places where animals are raised in enclosed warehouses.

Thank you for reading a page that is an uncomfortable subject for most of us to think about. I do not want these animals to be forgotten.  I think about them everyday, and out of love and compassion for them I share this short video to remember them. I deeply respect Paul McCartney for the example he is in the work that he is doing for animals.
